Mike and Connie Farley
Whale Pass, Alaska
HOME
Mike holding up winter king he caught in front of his house at Whale Pass.  He fished the bay during the winter trying to earn enough for a living.
I first met Mike and Connie on the beach just down from our house. They were living in a tent. That's where they lived for a year while Mike built a small house for them.
Not many women would endure the 100 mi/hr winds, rainfall, and snow associated with Southeast, Alaska. Connie and Mike truly lived the Alaskan life that others wouldn't even attempt.
Their place (like the rest of ours) was only accessible by water or walking the beach packing supplies
years later. Mike and Connie wanted to seek other adventures and left for California a few years ago.
We spent our Thanksgivings with them each year until they left for Californis. I miss those times with them. Connie would fix salmon, halibut, crab, shrimp, deer meat, blueberry pie, homemade biscuits, and clams. A feast that'll not be forgotten.

Years later, Mike bought a commercial hand troll permit. He and Connie spent their summers away from home trolling for salmon. They traveled all around Southeast, Alaska fishing.
