The four of us getting ready leave Fairbanks and drive to Haines, Alaska. There we catch the ferry to Whale Pass, Alaska.
Tanana is holding Josh and seeing us off.
The truck is a 1964 Ford. It was used in Barrow, Alaska as the GVEA linetruck. I bought it from Tom Baker. I had the engine rebuilt for the trip.
We must have looked like a circus wagon leaving Fairbanks.
We made it as far as Delta Junction, Alaska before the oil pressure guage showed ZERO. So much for having the engine rebuilt . A new oil pump and we're on our way.
We made it as far as Haines Junction before another stop for repairs to the truck.
Two days later we were on our way again to Haines.
We finally made it to Wrangell, Alaska but had to have the engine rebuilt again, only this time it was done right.
