Log Cabin Building with children
Pam changing Tristan's diaper.
The logs were left to sit for a year to help dry them out some before constructing the cabin.
Here Tanana is helping to dig the logs out and moving them onto the floor with a block and tackle.
A galvinized guy wire was strung from two trees diagnaly across the floor above. Another pulley was attached to the guy wire. This method allowed the log to be laid in position throughout the building process.
Not all the logs were the same dementions in height. Some had to be shaved down with a chain saw and then sanded with a disk grinder.
Fiberglass sill seal was laid between each log. The logs were then drilled and pinned together.
